Senegal has broken ground on the $1.1 billion Ndayane port project, which will dramatically expand the country’s shipping capacity. Designed to handle large container ships, the port is expected to streamline West African trade routes and reduce congestion in Dakar. DP World is leading construction, while the Senegalese government hopes to position the country as a trade hub between Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
